Jhankar - Workshop on ‘Kathak’ held at KPS Bhilai

A SIX - DAY workshop on Indian classical dance '
‘Kathak'was organised to nurture the hidden talents
within the students at Krishna Public School Nehru
Nagar, Bhilai . The workshop was held from June 13th
to 18th in which many students participated
enthusiastically.
The programme was started by lighting the lamp in
front of Goddess Saraswati , the Goddess of Learning ,
by Shri M.M. Tripathi, Chairman of Krishna Group of
Schools and Dhirendra Tiwari,the disciple of Pandit
Rajendra Gandhi the famous guru of Jaipur royal
family.

The Chairman Shri M.M. Tripathi said that classical
dance and music keeps us connected with our culture
and heritage. It is a practice that removes mental
fatigue and makes the body healthy. The name '
Kathak ' itself makes it clear that it is something that
is expressed as a story through expressions.
After this, the Principal Madam Savita Tripathi said
that the most active means in daily life is classical
dance and music as it is the union of body and soul.
We are proud that Khairagarh University in
Chhattisgarh is Asia's best institution for art, dance
and music and Krishna Public school is such an
institution which is especially associated with
Khairagarh University. Krishna Public School has
always been a part of Indian culture and tradition.
Carrying forward this tradition, this year also
'Pragyotsav' has been scheduled in the month of
August. This cultural extravaganza is going to be
organised at the international level.
